Just a short note tonight as not much has really changed since yesterday, other than 99L continues to fight for life. It is more impressive today as thunderstorms have continued to regenerate near the center, though are not yet sustaining themselves. Models are pretty much unchanged for the most part, just waiting to see if, when and where the system decides to spin-up. I would still give us a 60-70 percent chance of an organized system in the Gulf by early week gaining strength. How strong? Where it goes? And all the other questions hinge on it getting a bit more organized. Shear is down, though still there. But conditions will improve as the system moves westward. Hopefully, I’ll have more one way or the other Saturday morning.
