I will be updating the progress of 99L today but will hold off until later this afternoon for a couple of reasons. First, 99L has shown signs of life over the past few hours with big storms starting to go up around the center. I want to see of these persist, as there is still a bit of shear. Second, I really want to see the afternoon run of the ECMWF before writing the blog.
On a second note, there is currently no organization in the elongated area of disturbed weather in the central Gulf. It is being monitored but other than increasing rain chances for the northern and western Gulf Coast, I do not see any big issue there at the moment. 99L remains our major player into next week.
More later this afternoon …
